National Treasure

[livejournal.com profile] daisy_knotwise and I headed off to the cheap theater tonight to see National Treasure. It's not quite Raiders of the Lost Ark, but it's close in feel, with lots of actual wit and things that will be really funny to the bright viewer. Billy Bob says see it.

Gretchen picks a nit: Charles Carroll, the last surviving signer of the Declaration of Independence, was the only Catholic to sign it and was unlikely to have gotten along well with the Masons of the time, or the Masons with him.

That Was Unlikely

I've been waiting for my APBA baseball team, the Evanston Express, to get a bit of traction all season. With twelve games left in my season (the only twelve games that are left to be played), they suddenly developed four-wheel drive. I played the first-place team and won six straight. This leaves me three games out with six games to play against the last-place team. It's highly unlikely that I'll win another six in a row (current winning streak stands at eight games), but if I do, I will suddenly find myself in a tie for first.

I play the last six games tomorrow. We'll see what happens.
