Yup. As I posted elsewhere about this:

I hardly think that they represent the majority of PETA membership. It wouldn't be news if it were a couple people who happened to be members and killed their pet.

Is is news because they are employees who were engaged in systematic and planned euthanasia using their positions as part of PETA to do so. While I hardly think this practice is widespread within PETA, the extreme irony of actual representatives of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals killing and throwing away adoptable animals in bulk makes this a newsworthy story.
