Day one of my two days of Loop meetings is over and I am fabulously tired. This is because I not only had to get up annoyingly early to catch a train, but I slept badly for a variety of reasons.

But the meetings went well, so that makes it worthwhile.

I will keep telling myself that when I have to get up early again tomorrow.

Thursday, I am going to sleep.

And then Friday I am going to get up early so we can get to OVFF on time.

Whee!

comments

I had to get up early to get K to school this morning, the car pool having to get too many students to school at too many different times. This evening, I hit the wall.

But I have taken the new/old cello to the nearby shop to get a quote on getting it set up. If I don't like the number I hear there, I can get it back and take it to the shop it was originally bought from some 45 minutes away.

And K went to auditions for the spring play tonight, so we'll see how that goes.

comments

Time zones are hard.

I deal with them a lot at work, because the majority of the people that I need to work with are in the Pacific Time Zone, two hours earlier than we are here in Chicago. As a result, I usually do not get out of work until between 6 and 7 PM Chicago time and I tend to start later as well.

When someone on our India team sends out a meeting notice at 2:35 AM Chicago time and expects me to be there at 8 AM, the chances of this actually happening are vanishingly small. Unfortunately, I checked my email when I woke up to hit the bathroom and found the meeting notice, so I ended up getting up early.

And then we didn't have the meeting, because the fellow in India had farbled the time zone settings and had scheduled the 8 AM meeting for 8 PM.

We let him know that none of us would be showing up at 8 PM.

I really need more sleep.

So does Gretchen, but for different, school-related reasons. :)

comments

I woke up *way* too early this morning and couldn't get back to sleep, so finally gave it up and decided to get to work early. Sadly, this didn't result in increased progress, as I continue to be bogged down on my current project.

It also meant that I was too tired to do anything tonight that requires focus.

We'll try that again tomorrow. :)

comments
