Bemused

I'm bemused. Or fascinated. Or something like that.

I went to create a new view using Remote ClearCase, because I needed to replicate an old view of mine that's created using the unusable-from-here standard ClearCase client. Since I just wanted to copy an existing view, I figured I'd get the available view list in the creation process and pick the one that matched my old view.

So in the drop list that resulted, I find something called "bills_crappy_code_view".

I'm not sure if the person who created it thought that I'd never see it or simply didn't care. In either case, it makes him not nearly as bright as he thinks he is.

I wonder who that belongs to. I suppose there's a way to find out who created it...

Update: Yes, yes, there is. And now I know.

Oops...

I suppose the best outcomes would be that either a) you created it yourself, using a self-deprecating name, or b) someone else named Bill created it, for the same sort of reason. Otherwise, I think someone has a raging case of plantar warts of the palate, IYKWIM...

So...

The next time the person responsible signs on, will there be a flash of light from the monitor causing him to disappear into the system?

(I picture a little drawing of him knocking on the inside of the screen, with a word-balloon reading, "Let me out! Let me out!")

I feel your pain.

My sympathies.

Personally, I'd be tempted to print it out, put it on their desk and just say - "If you're going to be that unprofessional, I suggest you learn how to hide it better."

What a jerk.

BEST case is, it's someone who (mistakenly, obviously) thought it was funny.
