I quite like the minimal animation. It is well done, although it will be years before artists figure out how to integrate animation into a strip format without being distracting.
I'm just upset because it is a strip that my mother reads and I read. It has been many years since I even lived in the same corner of the country as her and it gives us something pleasant to chat about. She doesn't watch the same movies or read the same books, but we share the strip. I wonder how many families have grown up with the Pattersons as a "neighbor family" they can always chat about.
