Frozen Small Bears

It wasn't brutally cold at Wrigley Field today, but the weather was definitely sub-optimal. I think the organist spotted flurries at one point, because he started playing "Let It Snow".

It was a good game between the Dodgers and the Cubs, certainly closer than the final score, which reflected a two-run, two-out double by shortstop (!) Mookie Betts following a walk to the sub-.100-hitting catcher in the nine hole. This is seldom a good plan. If we were reading the stats correctly, that catcher has scored a run for every time he's been on base this season, which may have something to do with the benefits of getting on base before rolling around to the top of the Dodgers batting order.

But good game, good conversation.

I'd hope the weather is better next time, but I'm going Tuesday night...
