What's At Steak
I was looking for different groceries at Mariano's yesterday -- we were accumulating parts for stew that night -- when I noticed that it was the last day of a sale on Porterhouse steaks. Given that I'm paying nearly $5 per pound for chuck roast, $6.99 per pound for steak looked really good. And thus, I came home with two lovely steaks which went on the grill tonight, with baking potatoes in the oven.
Not only did we have a really nice dinner, but Ruby the Dog enjoyed the bones. (Also, she enjoyed Dad coming outside to tend the grill, because I would end up throwing something for her to fetch on each trip.)
