I Hate This

[livejournal.com profile] tarkrai called today to let us know that Cindy McQuillin had died. I hadn't expected that. The last I heard, she was getting better, but apparently I hadn't heard lately.

I don't much like it when my friends die. I suppose that's the case for most of us, but it's sad when it happens to someone who was just nice. I mean, there are certainly more words that you might apply to Cindy, but when I think of her, that's the one that bubbles to the top of the list.

There are a lot of worse things that could lead off your obituary.

Yes, I think many of us are feeling the same.
[livejournal.com profile] trektone who was probably closer to her than many of us, had said he thought she was getting better and seemed cautiously optimistic, so I think it was a bit of a surprise. Considering her health overall no, but recently yes.

She really was nice and fun and talented and I really will miss her even though I hadn't seen her in quite a while. :-(

I didn't know her, but I am sorry for the loss to you and to the rest of the filking world.

(McQuillen, McQuillin, or McQuillan? I have seen her name spelled three different ways in the past couple of days. I have no idea which is correct.)
