Twelve -- Count 'Em -- Twelve Planets

Well, at least we will have twelve planets and probably more soon if the current IAU proposal to define a planet (more or less) as a spherical body that orbits the sun is voted in. I think the definition is being a bit too inclusive. Something like Ceres or Pluto that is part of the orbiting rubble collection probably shouldn't be a planet.

Because Jeff and Gretchen Demanded It

By way of Mark Evanier, these Jay Ward commercials starring Quisp and Quake.

Our Canadian Cousins

I knew that the charges for calling Canada on our current Sprint long distance plan were high, but $1.50 a minute seems a bit punitive. I think I'll find a service where I just punch through to a different carrier the next time I need to do this.

For a $1.50 a minute, I'd expect to be able to call Luna City. And to tell you the truth, I'd be happy to pay that much if the city were there to call.

(No, [livejournal.com profile] decadent_dave, it wasn't your calls doing this -- just one I made a while back.)

Not So Much a Mix

It's not so much a mix as a mash, but I've done a fast mix of Falling Toward Orion with all the extant parts so we can hear what we've got. Twelve songs (out of the fifteen) "mixed" in two hours. Whee!

Bum Da Da Bum Bum

Seen on the signboard at Pappadeaux's Seafood Restaurant:

Swamp Thing, You Make My Heart Sing.

And I'm sure he makes everything groovy too.
